Coach Sarah

Coach Sarah has been a yoga instructor since 2017.  She has taught at several greater Lansing yoga studios, including HFF.  As part of her business, Sarah Belanger Yoga, LLC, she also offers independent yoga classes to the public, businesses, and organizations.

Sarah’s classes at HFF are all-inclusive and judgement-free. She wants her athletes to feel safe and supported exactly where they are in their yoga journey. Teaching yoga allows Sarah to share her passion and calming energy with her students.  She strives to make her classes accessible and make each class an enjoyable experience for everyone on their mat.  Sarah’s philosophy on teaching yoga focuses on the journey rather than the result.  “It’s not about touching your toes; it’s about what you learn on the way down.”

Sarah played numerous competitive sports growing up and sustained several injuries along the way.  As a result, she turned to yoga over 15 years ago.  Sarah says, “For many years, yoga has been a daily activity, it’s not only a time for me to relax and destress but it is a time for me to recharge and find balance. After seeing the benefits of yoga in my personal life, it inspired me to teach and help bring those benefits to others.”

Even though Sarah has been practicing yoga for over 15 years, she says it can still be a challenge every time she steps onto her mat.  “It’s a challenge for me to get out of my own head and balance the constant distractions around me.  But that is why I make time to practice, to find balance and recharge.”

Outside of yoga, Sarah works at Lansing Community College as a Field Instructor in the Child Development Department.  She is also active in her community and sits on a local school board.

Sarah and her husband met in preschool and now have four children that keep them very busy.  She enjoys spending time with her family, visiting new places, and anything and everything that Michigan’s four seasons have to offer.
