Coach Michelle

Coach Michelle has been a fitness instructor for over 16 years and brings a great deal of knowledge and experience to High Five Fitness. She joined our team in May of 2017 as a Spin coach and will often sub for many of the various classes we offer.  Michelle is committed, tough, and inspiring as a coach and athlete.

Most of our members would be surprised to know that Michelle was a chubby kid who thought she was destined to be heavy.  In her early 30s, she changed her diet and started exercising to build muscle;  she then realized that diet and exercise really do work!

Michelle is encouraging and likes to push her athletes to challenge themselves.  She says, “I love seeing an athlete succeed by doing something he/she thought they weren’t capable of doing”. Michelle has run marathons and competed in Kettlebell and CrossFit competitions in the past.  She is still extremely fit, but says her new challenge is accepting her body’s limitations as she ages.  It’s all part of life!

When Michelle is not coaching, she is a mother of three and wife to Paul.  She loves family time on the water (especially up north in the summer), biking, and yardwork.  She is also a Registered Nurse and Director of Practices at MSU Health Team.  Michelle is an avid list-maker, is scared of heights, and doesn’t like shopping.
