Coach Kyla has been an athlete at High Five Fitness since December 2015. Before that she dabbled in many different sports including volleyball, basketball, mountain biking, triathlon, marathons, and competed collegiately in track and field. When Kyla started CrossFit, she felt right at home. She said, "I've always loved the camaraderie of being on a team. It is somehow easier to work hard when all your friends are sweating right alongside you. WCF is not only 'my team', but they have grown to be great friends and the gym is one of my favorite places to be!".
Kyla's passion for HFF/WCF led her to be a coach in October 2019. She especially loves welcoming new members and helping them feel comfortable at the gym. "Everyone is welcome here! It takes guts to start something new and it is worth celebrating."
Kyla's competitiveness helps her to push herself as an athlete and coach. Her favorite movements are double-unders and power cleans. She likes to go FAST and struggles with the patience that is required to get better at things like flexibility. That is what is great about CrossFit, we all have our strengths and weaknesses and are working on different skills.
When she is not coaching, Kyla enjoys crafting, thrift store shopping, and laughing (or rolling her eyes) at her husband's dumb jokes. She also works as an administrative assistant in a corporate office. Kyla has an identical twin sister who is the mother to a set of fraternal twins. When they all hang out, they like to call it a "Twins Day"!
