Coach Ashley

Coach Ashley has been leading spin classes at HFF since October 2019 and has been a certified spin instructor since 2017.  Ashley is passionate, energetic, and full of positive vibes.  Taking one of Ashely’s energy-packed early morning spin classes is a great way to start your day off right!

Ashley has been a fitness enthusiast since high school.  In 2016, she completed a sprint triathlon at Hawk Island that triggered her love for running.  Since then, she has completed in many 10k races, a half marathon, and participated in Ragnar Michigan (where a team of 12 runners covers approximately 200 miles from Muskegon to Traverse City).  Now, she is enjoying building strength and friendships at High Five Fitness. In addition to coaching the spin classes, Ashley participates in some of the other class offerings at HFF, including CrossFit.  She is a very hard worker and a positive example to others.  Ashley is getting stronger every day, but says her biggest struggle right now is push-ups.

Coach Ashely likes to set the tone in her spin classes is by leading by example.  When you attend one of her classes, it is obvious that she is there to guide you.  She says, “I try to remind my athletes that you choose to be here, it is your time, so tune in and give it your all for the entire 45 minutes.” Ashley loves being an influence in a person’s fitness journey and hopes to encourage them to come back often and maintain a regular exercise routine.

When Ashley is not coaching, she works full-time as a Project Manager/Interior Designer at MSU in the housing division, Planning & Projects Office.  Basically, she works with a team to plan, design, and manage small to large-scale projects across campus in the housing and dining facilities.

Ashley is a wife and mom; she loves to travel with her family and do outdoor activities!  She also enjoys planning events/trips and the satisfactory feeling that comes when everything “just comes together”. Ashley used to work as a lifeguard over the summer and once shared an elevator ride and conversation with Charles Barkley!
